Political parties in parliamentary regimes are indispensable, from the time of Ancient Greece, Ancient Rome to the 19th and 20th century, and they have played indispensable functions! Put the name as you like, but without those political groups there is no way to build the electoral bodies. Meanwhile, things have gone backwards in Albania since 1990. Why? Because parties in modern times as in Antiquity have represented social groups that existed before parties. The parties have not only been elites of social groups and classes, of slave owners in ancient times, of bourgeois, of workers, of artisans in modern times, etc. The political parties could not escape from the control and values of the social groups that represented them because the heads of the parties were also the same people who were part of the social strata that the parties represented.

They have represented isolated individuals, out of control of ethical values, political strategies, social strata habits. For electoral needs, these parties do not respect any value model that belongs to any class or strata, but make electoral promises for the whole people. They are like Brezhnev's party, "the party of all the people". Therefore they are nobody's. This explains why political parties in Albania do not have ideological programs! They don't have because they don't know what they are, who they represent but themselves and the bosses who lead them. Political parties in Albania represent only themselves, that is, their leaders, and no one else. They are private organizations that appear in propaganda as carriers of the public good.
